What is Zovirax?
Zovirax is an antiviral drug(INN: acyclovir) widely used in clinical practice. Zovirax is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
Denavir contains penciclovir, an antiviral agent active against herpes viruses. Denavir is available for the current administration as a white cream 1%. Penciclovir is the active ingredient for medicines produced by different manufacturers in different countries and sold under the trade names. All these drugs are original brand name drug or like it.
Aldara Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of external genital warts pointed and perianal warts (condyloma acuminata) in adults. Aldara cream contains as active ingredient imiquimod, which modulates the immune response. Imiquimod has no direct antiviral activity. In animal models, imiquimod has proven to be effective against viral infections.
Valtrex is a drug against herpes zoster virus, the cause of shingles and against the herpes simplex virus, the cause of blisters on the skin and mucous membranes (eg lips, cheeks, mouth, genitals). The active ingredient in Valtrex is Valaciclovir that inhibits the replication of herpes viruses, without affecting the normal metabolic processes. The herpes viruses cause skin and mucous membrane blistering. Valtrex is also used for the prevention of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and disease after renal transplantation.
